Lets Elope
Lets Elope was formed after the Travelling Brides team of consultants were unindated with requests to do weddings in South Africa. After putting weddings together to the surrounding islands for more than 20 years, the team decided to bring the concept to South Africa, offering one package that would take care of everything required for a wedding, from the minister right through to the honeymoon. After just two days of the website being uploaded onto the internet, the team had their hands full with bridal couples calling from all over South Africa and… from the UK. A meeting was held and everyone agreed that we needed to offer our couples “something different” and this is when “simply different” was born. Everyone became involved looking for wedding venues that were different to the norm. Cave venues, hill top venues, rivers, forests, bush, beach, mountain, yacht, winelands, game, safari and so on. The beach and bush wedding package quickly became favourites and strong relationships were formed with suppliers. We concentrated on negotiating small packages with photographers, caterers, lodges, florists, ministers, musicians and so on. Although we focussed on the “elope” wedding concept, very quickly the packages grew bigger and more and more couples were requesting an elope package that would include parents, and then it went to including 20 guests and so the packages grew bigger and bigger until the team had packages together that would cater for those couples having 100 guests and more. We are now able to meet just about any requirement that a couple has and at very affordable rates because we have become close with all of our suppliers. We are able to do all the legalities for foreigners so that their marriage is legally recognised in their country of origin. We guide you through everything and ensure that the unabridged certificate and apostle is applied for and that you receive these within 7 working days.
The Travelling Bride is a “proudly South African” company and it gives us great pleasure to support our fellow small businesses wherever we possibly can. We have introduced the “Traditional Cultural Weddings” in South Africa recently. Our team trained two African ladies from Sebokeng, Nompi Mabaso and Nokugula Mthinzi who are very energetic and highly dedicated to giving the world a “taste of Africa”. Between the two, they arrange cultural weddings for those bridal couples wanting to experience South Africa in true African style. They have tried really hard to keep the packages as traditional as is possible taking the set up back to the way things happened hundreds of years ago. They make the traditional wedding attire themselves which, in itself, is a stunning memory to take home and show off to neighbours and friends. These two ladies support their community in every way possible using local community suppliers where they can which has created quite a few jobs. We are really proud of them and we look forward to promoting their packages as they finalise them.
Honeymoons in South Africa are beautiful and can compete very comfortably with the rest of the world. Once again, our team have introduced the Honeymoon Special package which includes rose petal turn downs, flowers and fruit baskets in the honeymoon suite upon arrival, champagne and ice bucket and so much more. The South African beaches, mountains, rivers, forests, game lodges and land scape in general are among the absolute best in the world so it would not be surprising that so many couples from far and wide choose this country to spend their most memorable occasion of all time……their wedding and honeymoon. The hospitality offered by South African hosts is unbeatable and the they truly go all out to ensure that our couples have their dream wedding and honeymoon.
Island Weddings and honeymoons are still high on bridal couples lists but they’re expensive compared to the ones offered here at home. The package inclusions are not as much as the ones offered in South Africa because most of the islands don’t have the resources and have to rely on flying so much in and this takes the price up. Many brides are not aware how the legalities work when getting married on an island. It’s a lot like getting married in court. A day is set aside where you have to visit the registrars offices and this is where the documents are signed making you, legally Mr and Mrs. The ceremony then takes place a day or two after on the beach at your resort. We have noticed a considerable drop in couples opting for island weddings since we have introduced our beach wedding packages in South Africa. Many of our couples are booking their beach wedding in South Africa and their honeymoon to one of the islands, but the beach, bush, mountain and forest honeymoon packages in South Africa are slowly starting to take off and more and more couples are settling for a full wedding and honeymoon in South Africa.

The wedding you want.
